Cathy Garrott
I am the niece of Elise Gourley Berkley. She was chosen to be vice-president of Virginia Bank and Trust ... one of the first ladies in Virginia to be put into that position in a bank. (The other woman was Marie Gourley Neal - her sister - who was at Security Bank in Danville.) My younger daughter is in a high position at the bank she works for in the Seattle, Washington area, She has been so encouraged by Elise all of her life and she would like to put a picture of Elise at work (at Va. Bank & Trust) into her own office at the bank in WA. She would like a copy of the article from the Danville Register, but in order to get that she needs the date of the article. Do you have any of this information and can you share it with me? I am Cathy Gourley Garrott, missionary in Japan 40 + years and banked with Va. Bank & Trust many years. Thank you.
